Exam
A dental exam is very critical to catch dental problems at an early stage and helps to keep your mouth healthy. Leaving problems untreated can make them more difficult and expensive to treat in the future, so it's best to deal with problems early.
Extraction
Tooth extractions or removal of teeth, are usually used as a last resort in dentistry, as keeping the natural tooth in the mouth is ideal.
There are many reasons for extractions such as elimination of pain, impacted teeth, deep un-restorable decay, broken teeth, periodontal disease, extra teeth or prior to braces.
Wisdom Teeth Extractions
Wisdom tooth extraction is a common procedure. You don’t need to be anxious about it. Our team of gentle dentists will make your wisdom teeth removal as easy and stress free as possible.
Why to remove wisdom teeth?
In general, wisdom teeth removal is caused by wisdom teeth that are impacted or wisdom teeth that may cause further problems if not extracted. For example, even with wisdom teeth that may have properly grown-in, they still are prone to infections since food particles can be easily trapped in the area around the wisdom tooth where regular brushing and/or flossing may not work well or be effective.
When such an infection occurs, it can cause considerable discomfort for the patient and even pose medical danger if not addressed in a timely manner. Some other reasons why wisdom teeth removal may occur includes, but are not limited to, misalignment which rubs up against the tongue or cheek causing discomfort and/or pain, crowding or malocclusion of other teeth resulting in there not being enough room on the jaw or in the mouth, as well as orthodontics.
The surgical removal of wisdom teeth can, however, result in discomfort, and there is a likely hood of some swelling and possibility of reduced ability to fully open your mouth. Occasionally, a “dry socket” can occur which causes pain.
Fillings
A dental filling is used to fill a cavity or other damage such as a chipped tooth. Cavities can extend over the time, so the earlier they are picked up, the less likely you are to have problems later. That’s why regular check-ups are important.
Leaving cavities untreated, it can lead to bad breath, toothache, infection, and even the fracturing or loss of your tooth.
How do you know if you need a dental filling?
People of all ages, even young children, may need a tooth filling. Perhaps you have a nagging toothache, sudden pain when you bite down, or sensitivity to hot and cold. You may even have noticed a cavity, or food getting caught in a damaged tooth.
We offer tooth coloured, silver and gold fillings.
Root Canal Treatment
Inside a tooth there is a fine space called a root canal. The root canal contains the dental pulp which consists of nerves and blood vessels. If a dental pulp becomes diseased or dies, a toothache or an abscess may occur. In the past these teeth were extracted but now we can offer you a root canal treatment to care for these teeth.
WHY RCT is necessary
Root canal is more often needed for relief of pain. A number of conditions like trauma, decay, deep fillings, fracture and infection may lead to irreversible damage to the dental pulp.
Filling The Gaps-Missing Tooth
A missing tooth can spoil your smile and make eating and speaking difficult. There are many options available to fill the gap.
Partial Dentures
There are several types of dentures available as short or medium term replacement option.
Metal Cast Partial Dentures
A cast partial denture consists of a metal framework that contains an artificial set of teeth in acrylic resin. As compared to acrylic dentures, a cast partial denture is stronger, durable and retentive.Acrylic Dentures
Acrylic partial dentures consist of a set of teeth fabricated in high quality acrylic base. This is an affordable solution to the problem of missing teeth. The denture consists of clasps which fits around your natural teeth for retention.Flexible Dentures
This is a thermo plastic denture that is light in weight, thin and flexible with non metallic flexible clasps that surrounds the natural teeth. Flexible dentures are premium quality that offers benefits of comfort, aesthetics, function and bio-compatibility.
The Bridge
A bridge is an artificial tooth supported by the teeth on either side of the space. Bridges are usually made of porcelain because of its natural appearance and durability. A bridge is a long term option to fill the gap.
The Implant
An implant is like an artificial tooth root, and is placed into the jaw bone where a tooth has been lost. One or more implant can be used depending on the size of the space. After a time of healing (usually few months) an artificial tooth is attached to the implant. Treatment can take between six to twelve months.
Not everyone has an appropriate jaw structure for implants. You will need to see your dentist for an assessment if an implant is the right option for you.
